The most-subscribed YouTuber in the world, has taken his relationship with Thea Booysen to the next level! The 26-year-old internet sensation proposed to his girlfriend in a heartfelt and intimate surprise at their home during Christmas, surrounded by both of their families.

A Surprise Christmas Engagement

In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE magazine, Thea, 27, shared the magical details of the proposal. “My family flew out from South Africa for Christmas, and we were planning to celebrate it at our house. While opening presents, Jimmy [MrBeast] asked me to close my eyes for the last gift because it was a surprise.”

Jimmy Donaldson, better known as MrBeast, added his signature humor and creativity to the moment. “I intentionally dropped a large box to make some noise before presenting the actual gift — a small box with the engagement ring inside.” He then got down on one knee and popped the question.

A Private Moment with Family

Known for his massive stunts and public spectacles, MrBeast explained why he opted for a more private proposal. “My friends thought I’d do something grand, like proposing at the Super Bowl or another big event. But I wanted it to be the opposite — really private and intimate.”

He also made sure Thea’s family, who traveled from South Africa, was a part of this special moment. “Thea is very close to her family, so it was important to have them there. Christmas turned out to be the perfect time since everyone was already in town.”
